PRE-COLLEGE ROTC PREP
Squad STX is a voluntary, high‑intensity summer camp in Texas for boys ages 12–18 where teens gain basic field experience and prepare for college ROTC field training exercises (FTX). Led by U.S. Army infantry officers, Squad STX is ideal for boys planning to join college ROTC who want to step out of the classroom and get ahead of the curve.
Basic Field Experience
Spend 100% of the time outdoors sleeping under tarps, managing gear, and cooking field rations to prepare for future ROTC field training exercises (FTX).
Land Navigation
Master orienteering from the ground up. Teens practice real-world map and compass navigation through rugged state park terrain without relying on electronics.
Field Craft & Leadership
Take on squad roles, communicate under stress, maintain field accountability, and learn applicable field craft techniques used in early ROTC field environments.
Elite Mentorship for Teens
Squad STX is owned and directed by Dustin Stewart, a former U.S. Army infantry officer and graduate of Texas A&M. Our instructors include active ROTC cadets and newly commissioned lieutenants from elite programs across Texas. This gives high schoolers direct mentorship, insight into college military life, and hands‑on training with real leaders.
ROTC Prep Starts Here
The jump from high school to a college ROTC detachment is physical, mental, and tactical. Get ahead of the curve this summer at Texas’ premier ROTC prep experience.
