OUR INSTRUCTORS

Squad STX is led by a cadre of U.S. Army officers and cadets who teach boys fieldcraft, leadership, and teamwork in a safe, structured way. Hand-picked by our director and experienced with adolescents, they focus on fun, mentorship, and building boys up — not breaking them down.

Military‑Trained Mentors

Our team turns real military fieldcraft into age‑appropriate lessons, including ROTC‑style fundamentals. With a low camper‑to‑staff ratio, instructors mentor each boy closely and keep every mission safe, organized, and fun.

A Legacy of Elite Leadership

Each summer, a small team of military‑trained instructors leads our boys. Overall led by a former Army infantry officer, Dustin Stewart of Tyler, Texas, through the years, our instructor roster has included everything from Army officers and cadets to Marine grunts and mortarmen to F‑16 pilots and Navy midshipmen. We select leaders who bring discipline, maturity, and genuine care to every squad they mentor.
