Meet the Squad
At Squad STX, boys learn real leadership and hands-on skills from seasoned veterans and elite instructors. Camp is led by a former U.S. Army infantry officer trained in wilderness operations, with ROTC cadets and newly commissioned lieutenants personally recruited from Texas universities as assistant instructors.
A former U.S. Army infantry officer, Dustin spent years leading teams in challenging environments, including Germany, Iraq, and El Paso, following his commission from the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets (Spider D-1 ‘03).
After company command at Fort Bliss, he left the Army for grad school and corporate strategy consulting in Houston, before starting Squad STX in 2018 with a clear mission to combine high-stakes situational training exercises (STX) with the fun of traditional camp experiences. His vision is to create tough, fun methods for boys to learn real outdoor leadership. Some might call it a modern alternative to Boy Scouts.
Our Instructors
Our camp team is made up of ROTC cadets and newly commissioned lieutenants from programs across Texas. All instructors have experience working with youth and complete thorough background checks.
