OUR MISSION IS TO TURN BOYS INTO YOUNG MEN & LEADERS
Squad STX is run by U.S. Army infantry officers as an alternative to Boy Scouts and traditional summer camp. We develop strong leadership skills through competitions, time-tested military organization, and squad situational training exercises (STX).
OUTDOOR SURVIVAL TRAINING FOR BOYS
Our intent is to train leadership in 'self-directed' missions requiring attention to detail. A primary method we use to reinforce leadership lessons is to rotate squad roles daily so everyone takes turns leading missions.
Campers learn basic camping, survival and leadership skills. Activities include setting up tarp shelters, navigating maps using terrain association and azimuths, night hiking, knot tying, knife handling, cooking, capture-the-flag with laser guns and constantly keeping track of personnel and gear—the finer aspects of leadership!
Perfect for either outdoor rookies with no experience, camping experts that want to try something different or JROTC cadets seeking basic overnight field experience or preparation for college ROTC. Our course is tough, but it is not a boot camp for troubled teens. Camping experience or military aspirations are not required, but motivation is!
LESS KUMBAYA, MORE HOOAH

Swimming • Cooking • Lasertag missions • Knife Handling • Survival Skills
Squad STX is a mix of traditional summer camp and boy scouting, organized according to time-tested military principles. Our courses teach young men practical outdoor leadership and are run by ROTC cadets and newly commissioned lieutenants. Includes camping, hiking, land navigation, team competitions, lasertag missions, and situational training exercises (STX). Less kumbaya, more hooah!
